Back to the River: Scenes from an Angler’s Paradise

The First Annual Battenkill Fly Fishing Festival weekend will feature an art exhibit, “Back to the River: Scenes from an Angler’s Paradise,” from Friday, April 29-.June 12, open weekends (Friday through Sunday) from 11 am - 5 pm. Works by 15 nationally and internationally known artists including CD Clarke, Peter Corbin, Mike Butler, Adriano Manocchia, Ann Larsen, Walter Matia, John Swan, Alberto Rey, and George Van Hook will highlight fly fishing, the Battenkill River, and respect for the natural environment. Other artists in the show include Tony Conner, Stephen DiCerbo, Galen Mercer, Mark Tougias, Ned Reade, Mallory Rich, and Carolyn Hawkes Riley.


Paintings in oil and watercolor, etchings, pen and ink drawings, and sculptures will fill the first-floor galleries in the Watkins House, a 1910 manor home in the center of Arlington. All works will be for sale, with 25% of the price going to support the Arlington Common, a non-profit community organization in Arlington.
